Minor Hotel Group, a Thailand-based hotel owner, operator and investor, has appointed Michael Marshall as Senior Vice President Commercial Operations.

Marshall, who is British, will lead the disciplines of Sales, Marketing and Revenue & Distribution for the company, whose portfolio includes the highly-acclaimed Anantara brand and the recently launched AVANI brand.

He joins Minor from Millennium Hotels & Resorts where he was Vice President Sales & Marketing for the Middle East and Africa, based in Abu Dhabi.

With a proven track record in hospitality Sales and Marketing, Marshall started his career in the industry in the late 80s, joining InterContinental Hotels Group in 1989, where he stayed until 2005. During this time he progressed through individual hotel roles, held several Regional Marketing and Sales positions and then became Director of Marketing Programmes for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a position he held for four years. In 2005 after 16 years, Marshall left IHG, working firstly as a marketing consultant within the industry, then in senior Sales & Marketing positions for several hotel groups.

Having spent the last six years based in the Middle East, Marshall now moves to Minors Corporate Office in Bangkok.
