Best Western is expanding its beach resort portfolio with the launch of a new hotel on the tropical Thai island of Phuket.

The resort is located just a few minutes’ walk from the golden sands of Patong Beach – Phuket’s most popular tourist area.

When it opens in 2014, the new Best Western hotel will offer 220 guestrooms featuring flat screen televisions and complimentary internet access.

Guests will be able to relax and soak up the tropical sun at a rooftop swimming pool or dine at the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of yet another Best Western property in Phuket, and our first in the buzzing beach resort of Patong,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western International’s Vice President International Operations – Asia & the Middle East. “With its idyllic sandy beaches, turquoise seas and excellent facilities, Phuket has become one of Asia’s most popular and tourist-friendly resort destinations. And as the main hub for entertainment, dining, watersports and nightlife, Patong is at the heart of the island’s success. We are certain that all visitors to Phuket will love Best Western’s combination of comfort, convenience and excellent service.”

This Patong project will join the midscale Best Western collection and become the chain’s fourth property in Phuket. It will also become the 18th addition to Best Western’s fast-expanding Thailand portfolio.
