The Royal Thai Consulate General has extended its collection of visa applications and delivery process to Hyderabad through a Thailand Visa Application Centre set up by VFS Global, one of the world’s largest outsourced consular services companies. The centre at Hyderabad became operational on 6 June 2011.

The key features of the centre will be longer operating hours, dedicated website for easy access, visa information including visa types, applicable fees and application status, staff dedicated to handle visa queries, dedicated call center unit, email support and door step delivery of passports.

The service has a nominal service fee, payable at the Visa Application Centre at the time of submitting the application. The Hyderabad office will remain open from 8 am to 3 pm.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of the Thai Visa Application Centre in Hyderabad, which reflects our constant endeavour to enhance services and facilities for Indian visa applicants to travel to Thailand, the land of smiles,” said Mr. Chanchai Charanvatnakit, Consul General of Thailand in Chennai. “There is an increase in the number of Indians visiting Thailand each year, especially from Southern India for both business and tourism. It is to meet this requirement that we have partnered with VFS Global Services Pvt. Ltd. to open the centre in Hyderabad. We believe that with the opening of this centre, visa applicants will get prompt and efficient services in order to permit them to spend best times of their life in Thailand which is widely accepted as a favoured tourist destination.”

Mr. Vishal Jairath, Head (Operations), South Asia, VFS Global, added, “Applicants and travel agents from Andhra Pradesh no longer need to send their documents to Chennai and can now apply from Hyderabad. We are committed to provide the best professional services to all visa applicants applying for Thai visas in Hyderabad.”

Direct flight connectivity between Hyderabad and all major cities in Thailand has contributed to increase in passenger traffic over the past few years. In fact, 45,000 travelers flew from Hyderabad to Bangkok in 2010.
