Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Friday, 28 January 2011

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, a new 5-star hotel designed by architect Kengo Kuma in the centre of Tokyo, is offering travellers a special two nights for the price of one promotion.

The promotion means that Deluxe King rooms are available from 30,000 JPY (US$360) for two nights. This rate is available until April 30 and also includes free Wi-Fi and access to the fitness centre and swimming pool. The offer is limited to a maximum of 10 rooms per day.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu is located in Akasaka in downtown Tokyo, overlooking the city’s historic Hie Shrine and close to the Prime Minister’s official residence.

On the site of the former Tokyo Hilton Hotel, one of the first ever international hotels in Japan built in 1963, it was for many years “the” address in Tokyo, welcoming international VIPS and celebrities, including The Beatles.

The original hotel has now been demolished to make way for Kengo Kuma’s new architectural masterpiece, with panoramic views of Tokyo’s skyline from the 18th to 29th floors.

Facilities include five restaurants and bars, five banquet spaces and two floors of state of the art fitness and spa facilities, including a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, membership gym and jacuzzi.

Located in central Tokyo within a 10-20 minutes subway ride from Tokyo Station and the major shopping and dining areas of Ginza, Roppongi, Shinjuku and Shibuya, the hotel is a prestigious venue for events such as weddings, parties, seminars and business meetings.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
