Six Senses has confirmed that the Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives will open as planned on 2 April 2011.

Six Senses Laamu, the only resort on the previously undiscovered Laamu atoll, is the first Six Senses property in the Maldives, joining Soneva Fushi and Soneva Gili by Six Senses.

Six Senses Laamu will have 97 villas built over water and beside the beach amongst the verdant jungle.

Six Senses Laamu features a glass wine cellar in the form of a six meter tower rising out of the sea and will offer guests a night time agenda of music, visiting djs and artists, along with cocktails from a mixologist.

It is a family friendly resort but also offers a surfers dream with a ying yang wave, minutes away from the peaceful lagoon. Diving, snorkeling and swimming in and around the pristine coral reef is some of the best in the Maldives. Movies will be screened under the stars, for relaxing and romantic nights for guests, at Scene Cinema.

The resort will open in April as planned with villas and all the food and beverage areas open and ready for guests to enjoy. There will be a supervised, fun and educational centre for children, as a precursor for the exciting and pioneering childrens club The Den - which will open in 2012.
