Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Monday, 13 June 2011

India's Jet Airways has begun city check-in service for guests travelling on the airline's domestic services, at three Delhi Airport Metro Express Line city terminals, namely the New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium and Dhaula Kuan Stations.

The Delhi Airport Metro Express Line is the express metro connection between Indira Gandhi International Airport - Terminal 3 and downtown Delhi, similar to the metro link between Hong Kong International Airport and the city.

The City Check-in (CCI) has been introduced to the Airport Metro Express Lines (AMEL) at the three City Airport Terminals (CAT), namely New Delhi Station and Shivaji Stadium Stations with check-in baggage and Dhaula Kuan Station without check-in baggage.

A special CCI identification label and baggage tag will also be put on guest boarding passes and check-in bags respectively. Jet Airways will accept passengers and baggage not earlier than 6 hours and not later than 2 hours and 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of its flights.

Guests using this facility, however, must report at the Jet Airways Terminal 3 Domestic departure Gates 30 minutes before departure. Baggage will accordingly reach the Indira Gandhi Terminal 3 baggage conveyor belt area. All baggage rules as followed presently at the Indira Gandhi International Airport will continue at the check-in facilities at the Metro stations.

Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways (I) Ltd. said, "The airline's guests in Delhi using the city's efficient Metro service may now check-in for their flights at the Metro airport terminals itself, ensuring a more comfortable, seamless and convenient travel experience for its guests."

Jet Airways also said it would introduce Metro express line city check-ins for its international services from Delhi on the receipt of the requisite clearances from regulatory authorities.
