Mandarin Oriental has appointed Michael Ziemer
as General Manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong, and Bede Barry as
General Manager of the Grand Lapa hotel in Macau.
Michael Ziemer:
With more than 24 years experience in the hospitality industry, Mr
Ziemer embarked on his career with Mandarin Oriental in 2003 as
Resident Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. He was appointed
General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Munich in 2004 and moved to
the former Mandarin Oriental, Macau in late 2007 to take on the
General Manager role. Michael has shown strong leadership
qualities by effectively directing his team through the sale of
the Groups Macau property, and the subsequent successful
re-branding of the hotel to the Grand Lapa.
Bede Barry: Mr
Barry has more than 17 years of international hotel management
experience, mostly gained with the Hyatt Corporation. He joined
the Group in 2007 as Resident Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Hong
Kong. Immediately prior to this he was based in Chicago, as
Director of Marketing Operations for Hyatt.
