Starting 2 September 2010, LAN Airlines will
initiate service to Paris, France. LAN will offer three weekly
flights on the Santiago, Chile - Madrid - Paris route aboard modern
Airbus A340 aircraft.
This new route will be the third
destination serviced by LAN Airlines in Europe. Currently, the
airline provides service to Frankfurt and to Madrid and connects
those cities to Latin America’s principal cities.
Subject to regulatory approval, LAN will fly
every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Santiago to Charles de
Gaulle International Airport in Paris. Return flights will depart
Paris on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“By adding Paris
to our portfolio of flight options, we are connecting France and
Chile to the major cities in the region,” said Armando Valdivieso,
LAN’s CEO, Passenger Division. “This new route will facilitate the
further development of tourism and business travel. In turn,
passengers travelling from Peru and Ecuador to Madrid will also be
able to continue to Paris with LAN, connecting with the new onward
flight,” said Mr Valdivieso.
The LAN Airbus A340 aircraft
which will operate this route seat 263 passengers. These aircraft
feature new Premium Business class luxuries including full flat
seats that recline 180° for a comfortable sleeping option. LAN
cabins also feature a fully-renovated Economy travel class. In
both travel classes, LAN offers the latest inflight entertainment
system.
