China Airlines (CAL) is to launch direct scheduled flights linking Taoyuan and Wuhan on 26 January 2011.

Wuhan will become the 17th mainland Chinese destination served by CAL since the opening of flights across the Taiwan Strait.

CAL will operate the Taoyuan-Wuhan service twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays using Airbus 330-300 aircraft equipped with 36 seats in Business Class and 277 in Economy Class.

To celebrate the Wuhan routes inauguration and CALs 51st anniversary, CAL is offering special discounts for passengers purchasing Taoyuan-Wuhan tickets before the end of February 2011, with the NT$12,100 Economy Class fare reduced to just NT$10,600.

CAL is also working with travel agencies to provide special tour packages exploring the Wuhan region, including an eight-day Three Gorges of the Yangtze River package and a special tour of ancient civilizations in the Hunan, Hubei and Zhangjiajie area.
