Etihad Airways has appointed Roberto “Bobby”
Hukom
as the country manager for the Philippines. Based in Manila, Bobby
will take over from outgoing manager Juan Torres who has become
the country manager for Japan.
Bobby has worked in the
airline industry for almost 30 years holding the position of
commercial manager for the Philippines for Gulf Air since 1986.
Prior to joining Gulf Air he worked for the Dimerco Agency Group,
Kuwait Airways and Korean Airlines.
Cramer Ball,
Etihad Airways’ regional general manager for Asia Pacific South &
Australasia, said, “Bobby has a wealth of experience ... his appointment is ideally
timed as Etihad has recently ramped up its Philippines services
with the introduction of five additional flights each week from
our home-base of Abu Dhabi to Manila.”
In addition
to his role with Etihad, Bobby is a member of a number of airline
industry bodies including the Board of Airline Representatives,
Philippine Travel Agents Association and Skål International
Makati.
Etihad Airways operates 12 flights a week between Abu
Dhabi and Manila.
