Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia said, We had always known that the Kuala Lumpur - Chennai route will perform exceedingly well. Chennai in Southern India is a highly popular and desired destination amongst the Hindus in Malaysia. Meanwhile travelers from Chennai are increasingly using Kuala Lumpur as a connecting gateway to over 130 routes in ASEAN and beyond. In fact within the first few months of flying to Chennai, we have consistently enjoyed strong load factor on this route. We feel that it is timely to add a 2nd frequency and this is certainly a reinforcement of our growing interest in the Indian market. Through our extensive network in Asia, AirAsia continues to offer cost effective direct point to point travel to Kuala Lumpur and beyond. Since Chennai is strategically situated and is also close to other tourist destinations, travelers can also fly to many other cities in India.
