Farnborough Airshow Secures Hotel Rooms for 2012 Event

This year's Farnborough International Airshow has not yet even started, but organisers are already reassuring delegates that they have already secured hotel accommodation for the 2012 show in anticipation of the increased demand due to the London 2012 Olympics.

In conjunction with Zibrant, the official accommodation provider for the airshow, organisers Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) has worked closely with VisitLondon to ensure there is enough bed space in London to accommodate all visitors to the show.

This agreement comes after the agreed rescheduling of the 2012 show to 9th – 15th July in order to avoid clashing with the organisational build up of the Olympics. By moving the airshow forward a week, the organisers have been able to ensure it has all the resources it requires to run the event on a ‘business-as-usual’ basis.

Commenting about the agreement with VisitLondon, Amanda Stainer, FIL’s Exhibitions and Events Director said, “We’re putting everything in place to ensure that the Farnborough International Airshow in 2012 will be as spectacular as any other and that includes ensuring all our visitors will be able to attend. Despite the extra challenge of it being an Olympic year, our tireless foresight and planning will ensure the success of the 2012 show.”

Tracy Halliwell, Director of Business, VisitLondon further added, “The Farnborough International Airshow is a major event, not just on the aviation calendar, but also for the travel and tourism industry. Despite the Olympics, we are very much aware that we need to house our regular biennial visitors and are happy to secure space in London Hotels for them.”

Farnborough 2010 will take place in just a few days, 19 - 25 July 2010.
