Aston International opened the 4-star Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center in West Kalimantan.

Located in the heart of Pontianak just off Jalan Gajah Mada the Aston Pontianak Hotel & Convention Center features a pillarless ball room, a 1000 sqm exhibition hall, several modern and functional breakout rooms, a shopping arcade, a Chinese specialty restaurant, an outdoor pool and a full service spa with more than 33 treatment rooms as well as a dedicated entertainment floor containing 22 Karaoke suites.

General Manager, Anto Soemartono, said, “Pontianak is a competitive market so we spared no expense to assure that the Aston stands out. The location by itself is unmatched plus there is no other hotel in West Kalimantan with a more complete range of facilities. May it be a professional event manager seeking smartly designed and functional conference facilities or a business traveler accustomed to the highest international standards the Aston will deliver the goods.”

After the last year’s opening of the Aston Samarinda Hotel & Convention Center the new 153-room Aston Pontianak is the second Aston in Kalimantan targeting the regional MICE market with expansive conference facilities.

A third Aston Convention Hotel is currently under construction in Banjarmasin and is due to open in mid 2012. Aston also manages the 4 star Aston Balikpapan Hotel & Residence and the 3 star Aston Tanjung City Hotel and Aston Ketapang City Hotel making the operator one of the largest international hotel groups in Kalimantan.
