Thailand-based Absolute Hotel Services has
signed a management contract with Thang Long GTC Co. Ltd. for an U
Hotel in Hanoi. The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2011.
Thong Long GTC has other business
service sectors in Hanoi including service development centre for
domestic and foreign tours, construction and interior design
enterprise, real estate and office rentals. It also owns Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, InterContinental
Hanoi, The Holidays Hotel and Mercure de la Gare Hotel in Hanoi.
“Hospitality development is one of our core company expansion
strategies with the desire to constantly contribute to develop the
best products and services to our customers. We have taken part in
many important projects in Hanoi and work with many partners from
the industry. We have decided to re-build one of our existing
properties in Hanoi, The Holidays Hotel to a U Hotel that has a
very unique brand essence and services to provide and deliver. Our
target date of construction will commence by mid 2010” said Mr.
Ta Minh Hung, general director of Than Long GTC Co. Ltd.
The U GTC Hanoi
is located in Dong Da district close to the old quarter of Hanoi,
and only a few minutes walk from government offices and leading
cultural relics of the capital, as well as the Temple of Literature
“Quoc Tu Giam”.
The hotel consists of 100 rooms fitted with all the modern
facilities and brand signatures. Hotel facilities
include a French Bistro and bar where guests can enjoy
breakfast, lunch and dinner or just a cup of coffee while watching
the world go by. As Hanoi is a heritage town, prosperous in
culture and has many interesting places to discover - The Reading
Room is a place for both business and leisure travellers to relax
and enrich their experience as well as get connected online with
friends and family back home. A gym and U Spa with private
treatment rooms are also provided for guest use.
Jonathan Wigley, CEO of Absolute Hotel Services,
said, “We are glad to have another opportunity to add
another U Hotel in our brand portfolio, especially one
in the capital city of Vietnam. Our technical services
team will be working with the architect and interior
team in developing a unique design to blend in with the
destination as well as U Hotels & Resorts brand essence.
By 2012, we will have at least seven properties to
manage under the U Hotels & Resorts brand in Indochina.”
