Exhibitor registrations for ITB Asia 2009 are
ahead of this time last year and are exceeding the expectations of
organizer, Messe Berlin (Singapore). The trade show for the Asian
travel market takes place 21-23 October 2009 in Singapore.
The following exhibitors have doubled their space for ITB
Asia 2009: the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Cambodia’s Ministry
of Tourism, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce
Marketing, Sarawak Tourism Board, Hotelbeds, Movenpick Hotels &
Resorts, and Far East Hospitality.
Increased stand space has been
booked by Tourism Malaysia, Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture &
Tourism, the Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board, Carlson Hotels
Worldwide, and the Park Hotel Group.
New exhibitors that have
registered so far include Gulf Air, Penang Tourism, and Centara
Hotels & Resorts.
“Registrations have been going
well, with Middle East exhibitors coming up nicely,” said Messe
Berlin (Singapore) General Manager, Ms Whey Whey Ng. “Exhibitors
who want to be part of Asia’s leading B2B travel show for leisure,
MICE and corporate travel need to move quickly to make sure their
organizations secure the right locations in the hall.”
ITB Asia will take place at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition &
Convention Centre. ITB Asia’s main focus is presenting global
travel products to the Asian marketplace.
Booth
space at ITB Asia starts at a reasonable US$2,890 per nine square metres. Each
nine square metre package includes two exhibitor badges, a listing
in the ITB Asia show catalogue and ITB Asia virtual marketplace
online, and one set of buyer appointments.
Prices
for small and medium-sized enterprises start at US$999. Prices are
subject to value added (GST) tax.
“Business
opportunities at this year’s ITB Asia will help companies cope
with the economic downturn and prepare for the upturn,” said Ms
Ng. “Many authoritative analysts believe that the first signs of
the upturn in Asia may be apparent from Q4 this year.”
ITB Asia takes
place alongside Web in Travel (20-23 October), one of Asia’s leading
travel distribution, marketing and technology conferences. There
are special rates for travel industry members attending both
events. Web in Travel includes The WIT Conference (20-21 October)
and The WIT Ideas Lab (9-11am, 22 & 23 October).
