Wayne Horbach Returns to Swisstel Sydney as General Manager

Mr. Wayne Horbach has been appointed as General Manager of the 359-room Swisstel Sydney.

Wayne has almost 30 years of hospitality experience, most of which has been gained in his chosen field of specialty - sales and marketing.

Since he was first appointed Account Manager for Southern Pacific Hotels in 1992, Wayne progressed to assume several senior sales and marketing appointments, most notably Regional Director of Sales at Stamford Hotels & Resorts and Blue Rocks National Sales and Marketing Manager.

He then held a double portfolio as Director of Sales for Corporate Rydges Hotels & Resorts and Director of Sales & Marketing at Rydges Jamison Sydney for two years before assuming the position of Executive Assistant Manager at Rydges Jamison Sydney, having successfully rebranded the property from Le Meridien, Sydney.

Subsequently, Wayne joined the Merivale Group, a diversified hospitality and lifestyle conglomerate, as General Manager Accommodation and Functions.

Wayne also enjoyed a stint as an entrepreneur, owning and managing a boutique catering firm, Roquette Catering Pty Ltd, before selling the successful venture.

This executive appointment at Swisstel Sydney marks a return for Wayne who was once Executive Assistant Manager, Director of Revenue & Marketing. Most recently, Wayne Horbach was General Manager International Sales, at Warner Village Theme Parks and Sydney Attractions Group.
