Executive Appointments at Minor Hotel Group

Minor Hotel Group has expanded the executive team at its Bangkok headquarters with the following two new appointments.

Marisa Aranha has joined the company as Vice President Sales. In this new role, Ms Aranha will be responsible for all the sales professionals and teams across all Minor-operated properties, including Anantara Resorts & Spa in Thailand, the Maldives, Bali and the Middle East.

As a secondary part of her role, she will also advise the CEO and COO on sales issues affecting the owned assets that are managed by third party operators including Four Seasons, Marriott Resorts & Spas and St Regis concerns in Thailand.

Prior to this appointment, Ms Aranha was the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts across Africa and the Indian Ocean, where she was in charge of the sales activities for the 37 hotels in that region as well as pre-opening planning. Earlier in her career, Ms Aranha held leadership positions with Hilton and Hyatt International.

A French national, Ms Aranha is a graduate of Bombay University and gained her MBA in Hospitality Management from Cornell School of Hotel Administration at Essec, France as well as addition qualifications from Frances top management school INSEAD.

The other appointment, sees Ross Crowder appointed Vice President Project Management. In this role, Ross will provide full operational leadership of the Construction and Technical Services functions for all Minor hotel and spa projects. This includes the development of new projects that are owned or part owned by the Minor Hotel Group.

Prior to his appointment Mr Crowder was with Starwood Hotels and Resorts as the Regional Director of Design and Technical Services. Born and educated in Australia, Mr Crowder is married with two sons.
