To strengthen its network in Asia, and particularly Thailand where Turkish Airlines has
been operating for almost 20 years, some 22 million Baht will be
spent on advertising over the next few months to highlight the
strengths of the carrier, its network offer, the quality of its
aircraft and the services available.
The advertising spend will be used primarily on
Bangkok's Sky Train system over a 6-month period both
externally and inside each carriage. Advertising will also appear
in local newspapers, magazines as well as a high end campaign to
be run co-jointly with Siam Paragon Department Store, The Emporium
Shopping Complex and The Mall Group.
Mr Adnan Aykac, Director of Turkish Airlines for
Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, said, “Bangkok is one of our major
gateway destinations in Asia to connect flights from Istanbul to
Europe and the rest of the world ...... Our
advertising campaign has been designed to focus on the power of
our strong network which is unique to Turkish Airlines especially
with our major hub being strategically located in Istanbul – the
heart of the world. We can easily connect travellers to every
continent, area in the world - Africa, the Americas, Asia, and
Baltic countries, Central Asia, Scandinavia, Europe, Eastern
Europe and Middle East all via Istanbul. Our advertising also
highlights the ease of flight connections from Istanbul to 150
cities in 74 countries. And in our home base of Turkey we fly
domestically to 35 destinations.” Mr Aykac.
Advertising in various newspapers and magazines in Thailand
commenced earlier this month and will continue to the
end of the year.
“Globally Turkish airlines is proud to
have contracted Oscar Award Winning actor Kevin Costner
with “Feel Like A Star” campaign to reflect the high
satisfaction of service felt by our customers. Currently
TV campaigns are being shown through Cable networks in
the region,” Mr Aykac added.
“Besides the advertising campaigns we have
also invested with business partner, Siam Paragon Department
Store, The Emporium Shopping Complex and The Mall Group, to
jointly organise marketing & promotional activities together from
July ’09 through to early 2010.”
Growth of passengers from
Thailand during the first 5 months of this year increased by 10%
and a 15% increase is expected overall in 2009 VLY 2008.
Turkish Airlines currently operates
