The 16th Asian Games, part of the worldwide Olympic movement and governed by the Olympic Council of Asia, has selected seven hotels and hotel management companies to serve as accommodation service providers in the seven zones of the Athletes' Village and Media Village in the Asian Games Town during the Games.

More than 12,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions are expected to compete in 42 sports at The 16th Asian Games, featuring every Olympic discipline at last summer’s Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games - including Baseball and Softball which have been dropped from the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Competition at The 16th Asian Games also features non-Olympic sports, including: Golf, Bowling, Cricket, Rugby, Dragon Boat Racing, Dance Sport (i.e. Ballroom Dancing) and Chess.

The seven hotels and hotel management companies will follow the example of the management model of the Beijing Olympic Games' Olympic Village in providing accommodations and reception services at the Asian Games Town. The selected hotels and hotel management companies are:

White Swan Hotel
Guangzhou Dong Fang Hotel Group Co., Ltd.
Guangdong Yihao Hotel Management Company
Guangdong New Baiyun Hotel Co., Ltd.
Hotel Canton Co., Ltd.
Hainan Airlines Hotel (Group) Co., Ltd. and
Guangzhou White Swan Hotel Property Management Company

The 16th Asian Games will follow Beijing's Olympic example used at the Olympic Village as organizers for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad provided accommodation services through a team of hotel management companies, adopting a zone-based management model with cooperation between hotel management companies.

The 16th Asian Games will be held in “Flower City” of Guangzhou from November 12 - 27, 2010. More than 10,000 accredited and non-accredited worldwide media are anticipated to cover the Games with more than three million spectators expected to attend.
