China Southern Airlines (CZ) has launched a range of special fares for families and friends to travel together from Melbourne to Guangzhou on selected Saturday flights until the end of November.

The “Saturday Spring Special” Economy Class airfares start from just A$715 for the first passenger and A$615 for their travel companion – and further discounts apply to the third, fourth and fifth passengers, who only pay A$515 return. All taxes included.

“These Saturday departure only fares coincide with our recent schedule expansion from Melbourne and are some of the best deals ever offered from Australia to China,” said James Liu, General Manager Australia for China Southern Airlines.

“To welcome our third weekly flight operating from Melbourne to Guangzhou every Saturday, we invite families and friends to take advantage of this limited offer.”

The “Saturday Spring Special” is valid for a minimum of two and maximum of five passengers travelling together, and fares are available for departures only on the following dates in 2009:

August 29
September 5, 12, 26
October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
November 7, 14, 21

These fares are valid for sale until 30 September and travel must be completed by 31 December 2009. Bookings can only be made on China Southern Airlines flights CZ322 and CZ321.

The Saturday service from Melbourne to Guangzhou, which currently operates via Sydney, will become non-stop from 26 October until the end of March 2010.
