AirAsia has launched flights between Penang and
Singapore.
The low cost airline is celebrating the launch
with a promotion of RM79 (Sin$49) for one-way flights between
Singapore and Penang. Bookings must be made before 7 June 2009 for
travel period between 15 June 2009 an 13 September 2009.
AirAsia is looking at carrying 60,000
passengers
on the new route by year end. The new route is being served by AirAsia’s
brand new Airbus A320 aircraft.
Penang is a
destination well known for its excellent cuisine and diverse
culture.
In Penang, there are many fascinating things to do such as taking
a trishaw ride around George Town, enjoying the sunset at the Batu
Feringghi beach or go up the Penang hill via cable car to enjoy
the panoramic view of the island. Visiting the many food stalls is
a must as the island’s
tantalizing gastronomic offerings range from fine Chinese, Malay
and Indian delicacies.
Apart from the Penang-Singapore
route, AirAsia also celebrated its inaugural daily flight from
Langkawi to Singapore and its 8th daily flight from Kuala Lumpur
to the city state on Monday.
