Months ahead of its early 2010 soft opening,
Resorts World Sentosa has confirmed that it has already secured 30
event bookings. What will surely become one of Asia’s most
sought-after meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions
(MICE) destinations, Resorts World Sentosa is currently fielding
more than 150 leads, with expressions of interest for events up to
2014.
Resorts World Sentosa houses Southeast Asia’s only Universal Studios theme park,
one of the world’s largest Marine Life Parks, six hotels, a casino and a
palette of Las Vegas-styled entertainment, world-class
performances, restaurants by celebrity chefs and retail shops.
With the ability to host up to 35,000 MICE guests at any one time,
Resorts World Sentosa offers a one-stop MICE destination proposition, including multiple unique event spaces within Universal Studios
Singapore, as well as Resorts World Convention Centre’s 26
function rooms and the Compass Ballroom, one of Asia’s largest
column-free ballrooms that seats 7,300.
“These events –
some of which are firsts in Singapore – signify growth in the MICE
industry, and shows the confidence organisers have in the
49-hectare Resort’s MICE offerings as a solution for companies
looking for venues that provide both impact and bang for the
buck,” Ms Elena Arabadjieva, Director of MICE, Resorts World
Sentosa, said. “As the world’s economy recovers, we are getting
strong interest from organisers for events from 2010 to as far
ahead as 2014 and that gives us great confidence in Singapore’s
meetings and incentive travel sector in the mid to long term.”
Since the
start of 2008, Resorts World Sentosa has met more than 500
organisers and corporate clients to continue generating awareness
of its impressive stable of MICE offerings. Options range from
themed dinners along Universal Studios Singapore’s New York
Street, to product launches at the park’s Waterworld amphitheatre,
complete with fire, pyrotechnics, stunt men and special effects.
