The Orchard Road Business Association has
announced the winners of 2009s Christmas Best Dressed Building
Contest. The winners are:
Platinum - Tanglin Mall Gold - TANGS Orchard
Silver - The Centrepoint Bronze - Paragon and ION Orchard
This year, the following malls participated in
the contest: Forum The Shopping Mall, ION Orchard, Orchard
Central, Paragon, Shaw House, Takashimaya Shopping Centre / Ngee
Ann City, Tanglin Mall, TANGS Orchard, The Centrepoint, The Heeren
and Wisma Atria.
The winners were selected by a panel of five

such as coconut husks, lottery tickets, parking coupons and fruit
wrappers are transformed into Christmas treats such as Santa
Claus, ice cream castle, lollipops etc. Snowflakes released at
regular intervals also captivate both the young and old, creating
photo opportunities for all.
Ms Jenny Ng, Centre Director of Tanglin Mall,
said, "Its tough competing with so many new and newly revamped
malls on Orchard Road. We are extremely elated to have won the top
prize and even more excited as this is, by far, our biggest win in
a Christmas contest!"
Coming in second place and taking away the
Gold award is TANGS Orchard with a theme inspired by the Art Deco
Era from the roaring 20s. By paying tribute to this vibrant era
with an elegant colour palette of black and gold as well as an
opulent and intricate chandelier as the seasons icon.
Ms Lin Pei Hua, Assistant Vice-President
of Marketing & Communications of TANGS said, "As we're known as
TANGS the Christmas Store, we certainly do not want to disappoint
our shoppers who always look forward to our store decorations and
window display. We're very pleased that ORBA has brought back this
contest and we will definitely continue to support this wonderful
effort!"
Ms Wendy Low, General Manager of Frasers
Centrepoint Malls, which won third place with The Centrepoint,
said, "We are very pleased that our decorations this year have
resonated with shoppers, we have also taken much effort to ensure
that the Christmas decorations at The Centrepoint are
environmentally friendly. Where possible, we reused recycled
decorative materials from previous years. We also used LED
lighting in all decorations to save on power consumption. This
years decoration is visually arresting, spinning a new and
fashionably updated twist to traditional Christmas images that
everyone is familiar with."
