Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 13 August 2009

Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) is inviting interested companies to tender for the status of signage contractor for Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.

The showpiece tournament, which will incorporate 48 matches between September 9 and October 23, is one of the largest sports events in the world and will be a highlight of the 2011 sporting calendar. RWC 2007 in France attracted 2.2 million supporters and a global television audience of 4 billion.

RWCL is looking to appoint a suitable professional contractor to oversee certain key elements of signage and branding on its behalf.

Interested companies should clearly provide all the necessary detail in offering a suitable branding and signage solution for RWC 2011 with an emphasis on:

- A manufacturing and logistical solution to provide its sponsorship programme with a complete pitch-side, high exposure signage solution;

- Manufacturing and maintenance of the product to meet world standards and to be HD ready;

- A complete internal venue overlay of the prominent and distinctive RWC brand;

- A number of media backdrops and branding materials fit for all conditions from in-studio to outdoor against the elements;

- A variety of sponsor recognition items such as banners, flags, towers etc;

The operation is to encompass 48 matches spread across 13 venues in a six-week period.

As this is a complex and detailed operation, RWCL is looking for an organisation with relevant technical know-how, experience and a proven track record of delivering to the highest standard at an event of the stature of Rugby World Cup.

Specifically, RWCL is looking for applicant companies who can meet the required signage and branding needs, and have a proven track record in as many of the attributes below as possible:

- Working at high level international Rugby Test matches;

- Providing a signage and branding solution for multi-venue concurrent events such as Rugby World Cup;

- Experience of the pressures of an international global sporting event;

- Work experience / knowledge of New Zealand Rugby venues;

- Provision of both commercial signage, media signage and tournament look and feel branding programmes;

- A list of applicable referees that RWCL can call upon for reference.

Companies fitting the above criteria and interested in tendering for this contract should send their applications for the Invitation To Tender, providing as much similar event history as possible, to rwcinfo@imgworld.com . The deadline for applications is 1700 BST on August 28, 2009.
