Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Monday, 6 October 2008

For those travelling with their pets, the Mandarin Oriental, Miami is now offering a special "MO Pets" program providing luxurious pet offerings ranging from special menus and pet turndown service to play dates and grooming services.

“Being one of the few pet-friendly hotels in Miami, it is our pleasure to provide personalized pet offerings and services,” said Guilherme DeMelo, Chief Concierge. “We aim to provide all our guests with Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service – regardless of whether they arrive on two or four legs!”

When pets check into the hotel, a keepsake golden Mandarin Oriental collar tag is provided to easily identify these special guests. Pets will find a plush pet bed, a bone-shaped place mat with food and water bowls, special edible treats and bottled water in their room upon arrival.

Furthermore, pets are provided with a turn-down service, just like their owners. Should a guest decide to share their dining experience with their pet, the hotel offers a special pet menu through in-room dining including delectable selections such as Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Grilled Organic Chicken Breast and even gourmet desserts.

For fun in the sun, guests have the opportunity to provide their vivacious companions with exercise and entertainment with Mandarin Oriental, Miami’s Doggie Boot Camp. Partnering with a certified dog trainer, guests can reserve a Play Date or Training Date for their pet. The Play Date program is geared for dogs that just need some good old fashioned fun doing what they love to do, walking, running and playing, as well as meeting other pets and people. The Training Date session provides guests the opportunity to spend quality time with their pet and also receive professional help to correct issues such as excessive barking, jumping or housebreaking problems. Training to properly walk dogs on leashes will also be featured.

In collaboration with an exclusive pet groomer located in South Beach, Mandarin Oriental, Miami’s pet residents can enjoy a beauty day and receive preferred appointments. The hotel’s concierge will gladly arrange transfers. Doggie bathrobes and stylish doggie shirts with Mandarin Oriental’s logo in pink or blue Swarovski Crystals are also available for purchase.

To accommodate busy schedules, complimentary pet walking services are offered by the hotel once daily, as well as reliable pet sitting services. Surrounding the hotel is a 1.3 mile trail perfect for walking a pet. Additionally, a 24-hour mobile vet is available should a pet require veterinary services.

A US$100 fee for special deep-cleaning of the room will be added to the room charges. Room reservations require a US$200 deposit upon check-in, of which US$100 will be returned upon check-out, provided the room is in order. Pets are welcome in public areas of the hotel (excluding restaurants and spa) and in the spacious guest rooms and suites. The special pet services are only available to hotel guests.
