Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Friday, 5 September 2008

China Airlines and its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines will launch Mid-Autumn Festival charter flights directly to Shanghai, from September 7 to 21, 2008.

A total of four round-trip charter flights from Taipei to Shanghai have been arranged, and Boeing 747-400s will be used for the charters, which will provide a two-class service.

A 5% discount on ticket fares is available for passengers using web-ATM payment on the China Airlines website; a 6% discount on ticket fares is available for Dynasty and Gold card members; and a 7% discount is available for Emerald and Paragon card members.

Passengers may also make their reservations through designated travel agencies. With the required mileage, or an additional payment, Dynasty Flyer members can upgrade their seats or redeem a free ticket on the charter flights, and Dynasty Flyer members can also accumulate double mileage on the charter flights.

Passengers on China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines can use their tickets interchangeably on both airlines, and can combine scheduled flights with the charter flights. Passengers with scheduled flight tickets can switch those tickets to charter flights without an administration charge, and need only pay the price difference if required. Passengers can also join China Airlines Dynasty Packages to Shanghai.
