IHG appoints Carsten Reiher as Director of Operations for IHG Jordan and Palestine

InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Carsten Reiher as Director of Operations for IHG Jordan and Palestine. Reiher will also take on the General Managers role for the upcoming Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Dead Sea properties.

Reiher has over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry including previous General Manager roles for various InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels across Europe.

In his new role Reiher will oversee a total of seven properties within Jordan and Palestine including an additional two properties due to open on the Dead Sea. His role will involve liaising with owners and developers, as well as IHG employees across the two countries; in order to maintain the current strong performances of these hotels into the future.

Reiher is known amongst his peers for his dedication, loyalty and professionalism. He has won numerous awards throughout his career specifically for his management style, hotel performance, customer satisfaction and maintaining strong owner relationships. In 1999 he was recognized as IHG General Manager of the Year, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Speaking about his appointment Reiher said, This is a fantastic opportunity and one that I am thrilled to have accepted. Having been with IHG for over 20 years I have truly seen the company evolve and expand. I am excited to now be stationed in a market as dynamic and emerging as the Middle East and look forward to the challenges and successes that lay ahead.

InterContinental Hotels Group currently operates 79 properties and 18,476 rooms within the Middle East and Africa with a further 41 properties and 10,819 rooms in the development pipeline.
