Asian Masters Football Tour to feature Teams from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool

The Venetian Macau-Hotel-Resort, Masters Football and Football Focus, are to host the inaugural Asian Masters Football Tour in December 2008. This event, supported by MSAR Macau Sport Development Board and Macau Football Association, will begin in Macau at Cotai Strip CotaiArena on Friday, December 5, 2008, prior to its next tournament in Kuala Lumpur.

The tour will feature the Masters teams from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and an All-Star EPL Team which promises to be one of the highlights of the Masters season. Each team will feature ex-professional players from the clubs. Many of the players have played football at international level and their names are well known in the United Kingdom, Europe and countries all over the world. Famous players who will be playing in Macau include Anders Limpar and Ray Parlour from Arsenal, Andrei Kanchelskis and Lee Sharpe from Manchester United, as well as Richard Gough, Everton and Jason McAteer from Liverpool with more players expected to be announced soon.

Masters Football began in the UK in 2000, and now entering its eighth year it has grown enormously to become a regular fixture on any football fan’s calendar. It is an exciting 6-a-side indoor football game that is fast and furious and full of action. Played in the indoor Cotai Strip CotaiArena, the 4 teams consist of squads of 9 although only 6 players take the field at any time. The game is played in two 8-minute halves, 11-a-side rules apply with a few exceptions (i.e. no off-sides, no corners). All on the same night, each team will play each other in a round-robin event, with the two best sides playing off in the final.

Since its inception, the Masters Cup has been played in front of over 1.2 million people, and many more millions have tuned in to see the action on TV and roar their team on to glory.

Tickets are available in three price categories: A Reserve (MOP$980), B Reserve (MOP$580), and C Reserve (MOP$250) will be on sale on from Friday, October 24, 2008.

In addition to an exciting evening of action packaged games there will be a Legends Lunch in the Venetian Ballroom. Gold Corporate table bookings are available that include: A reserve seats, Souvenir Program and a 3 course meal. Plus 2 legend players will also be seated on every table. Silver packages are also available.
