SriLankan Airlines launches SMS Alerts

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Friday, 17 October 2008

SriLankan Airlines has launched an SMS Alert facility to keep passengers informed of flight updates.

Inga Rodrigo, Customer Service Manager, said, “SMS Alert is yet another value addition from SriLankan Airlines to enhance passenger convenience. Passengers will find it very useful to receive notifications of flight schedule updates on their mobile phones.”

Passengers who book through travel agents should make sure that their mobile numbers are passed on to SriLankan at the time of making the booking.

Even passengers from overseas, who have roaming telephone facilities and have provided the numbers and the country code, will receive the message. Passengers who provide only their land line numbers or just the contact numbers of travel agents will not receive SMS Alerts.

SriLankan has renewed its focus on customer convenience in recent times, and is making full use of modern technology to do so, including a Booking Manager facility on its website, and On-Line Check-In through the Internet.
