DOCOMO interTouch to provide Regal Hotels in Hong Kong High-Speed Internet

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 15 July 2008

DOCOMO interTouch, one of the world’s largest providers of a full-suite of integrated solutions for the global hospitality industry, is to provide Regal Hotels International high-speed wired and wireless Internet to its chain of Hong Kong-based hotels.

With five properties located across Hong Kong, Regal Hotels International will work together with DOCOMO interTouch to equip more than 3,500 rooms and suites with fast, secure and reliable Internet access. This will help the hotel group to deliver the high-tech experience that is demanded by today’s hotel guest.

Charles Reed, CEO of DOCOMO interTouch, said, “For today’s business traveller, a wired and wireless Internet connection is as much a necessity as the hotel bed. And the connection must be fast, reliable, easy to use and secure. With significant investment in Research & Development (R&D) and support from our parent company NTT DOCOMO, we are able to provide industry-leading technology solutions including our proprietary high-performance, next-generation Internet broadband network that is designed exclusively for hotels.”

Using increasingly sophisticated software developed in-house, DOCOMO interTouch has established itself as a market leader in providing the full range of technologies and managed services to hotels in Asia, South Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas regions.

With the recent acquisition of major rival MagiNet earlier this year, DOCOMO interTouch has expanded its portfolio to include enhanced interactive solutions and in-room entertainment such as Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and Internet Protocol Video-on-Demand (IPVOD).

“Our newly expanded scope and scale of business has allowed DOCOMO interTouch to set the highest technology standards for Regal, providing their hotels and guests with value-added services. For example, Regal Hotels will enjoy the opportunity to incorporate their brand identity and promote their services and facilities via multiple outlets. We have also designed a future-proof technology infrastructure for Regal that is both highly stable and flexible, so that their hotels can meet the needs of guests today and in the future,” added Reed.
