Peter Mainguy, a veteran hotelier with 16 years experience in the Middle East, has been appointed General Manager of the 608-room Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Mainguy succeeds Allan Federer, who transferred to The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt, County Wicklow in Ireland.

With a six-year Ritz-Carlton career that started as director of sales and marketing in The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai in 2002, Canadian-born Mainguy was previously general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. Prior to that, Mainguy also served as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. While in The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel and Spa as regional director of sales and marketing for the Middle East, he was instrumental in the successful re-branding of the hotel from a Le Royal Meridien.

Tapping on his experience and leadership, Mainguy was certified as a Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center Ambassador for its Legendary Service Programme in 2007. This was developed to meet a growing demand from organisations requesting a speaking engagement or benchmarking programme.

He was also the assistant director of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) in Dubai in 2003, 2004 and 2007.

The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is a 32-storey luxury hotel located in Marina Bay, next to the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay. Set amidst seven acres of tropical landscape, all guest rooms and bathrooms offer views of either Marina Bay or Kallang Bay and the city skyline. Services and facilities include restaurants and a lounge serving Chinese, Western and international favourites; a Fitness Centre and Spa with swimming pool, indoor gym, tennis court and spa treatment rooms; and a business centre.
