The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government
has appointed five new Members to the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Appointed
for a three-year term, the new Members are: Ms Shirley Chan Suk-ling, Dr Michael Chan Yue-kwong, Messrs Ko Chi-sum, Larry
Kwok Lam-kwong and Stanley Hui Hon-chung. The appointments
are effective 1 November 2007.
The appointees are elites in their profession: Ms Shirley Chan Suk-ling is the Managing Director of YGM Trading Limited; Dr Michael Chan
Yue-kwong, the Chairman of Café de Coral Holdings Limited; Messrs Ko Chi-sum, the Chief Executive Officer and Producer of Spring-Time
Group Limited; Larry Kwok Lam-Kwong, the Managing Partner of China, Mallesons Stephen Jaques and the former Vice-chairman of the
Consumer Council; and Stanley Hui Hon-chung, the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Airport Authority.
The Hon James Tien, Chairman of the HKTB, welcomed the HKSAR’s appointment and said, “We are hopeful that the new Members will
provide guidance and inject new ideas to HKTB’s work. I look forward to working closely with them to further promote our tourism
industry.”
In addition, five other Members namely Dr James Wu, Messrs Yu Pang-chun, Michael Hui Koon-man, Tang Kwai-nang and Prof Andrew Chan
Chi-fai will retire by end of October, after having served the HKTB for six years.
