Travel News Asia Wednesday, 25 April 2007

Continental Airlines' passengers in its BusinessFirst class traveling from Hong Kong and Beijing can now enjoy complimentary helicopter transfer service between Newark Liberty International Airport and the downtown or mid-town Manhattan heliports.

Continental Airlines and US Helicopter Corporation together launched the eight-minute shuttle service between Manhattan (Wall Street or 34th Street) and Newark Liberty International Airport in December 2006. From now until June 30, 2007, this exciting new premium offer means Continentals BusinessFirst passengers can enjoy the service free of charge (for passengers who purchased tickets in Hong Kong or Beijing). A one-way transfer aboard US Helicopter normally costs US$159, plus applicable security fees.

With this eight-minute airport shuttle service, Newark becomes an even faster and easier option for time-sensitive business travelers coming in and out of Manhattan. In addition to the time-saving and hassle-free transfer, the thrilling experience of arriving in Manhattan by helicopter flying over the citys famous skyscrapers adds an extra element of excitement and glamour to the journey. Continental passengers arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport can proceed to US Helicopters departure gate after clearing customs and immigration. Passengers departing New York can check in at the Manhattan heliport, obtain boarding passes and also check through their baggage to their final destination.

Continental passengers can reserve their helicopter service via local reservations office after booking their BusinessFirst flights. US Helicopters flights between Newark and Manhattan operate Monday through Friday from 6:40 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
