New Director of Sales and Marketing at Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort

Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort recently appointed Derek Loke, as Director of Sales and Marketing, and Sirisopa Shuchit as the hotel's new Spa Manager.

Derek Loke will be responsible for managing the property’s Bangkok Sales and Marketing office and promoting the resort’s 470 rooms and suites, 6 meeting rooms, Fitness and Spa centre, and 10 distinctive dining venues all set on 40 acres of lush tropics along Phuket Island’s Western coastline in a secluded and pristine cove.

Originally from Malaysia with more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, Derek brings an extensive and in-depth knowledge of tourism to his new posting at Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort.

Sirisopa Shuchit

Between 1977 and 2006 Derek played a pivotal role at various luxury resorts in the South East Asian region and joined Le Meridien from the Laguna Beach Resort in Phuket. Prior employment opportunities took him to Meritus Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong RSO, as Regional Director of Sales for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and a 1 year placement with the Starwood brand of luxury hotels at Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers.

Bangkok born Sirisopa Shuchit brings an extensive array of hands-on experience and knowledge about the spa industry to the resort. She will also be responsible for the resort’s Fitness Centre and managing the numerous indoor and outdoor programmes, activities, and sports that it offers. 

Previous work experience includes: a placement at Sheraton Saigon in Vietnam, as Spa Director; a position at the Samadhi Wellness Centre in Krabi, Thailand, as Managing Director; and tenure at Sila Evason Hideaway and Spa on Samui Island, Thailand as the Wellness and Spa Manager. Prior employment opportunities took her to upscale resorts throughout Malaysia and China.
