Hertz New Zealand expands with New Toyota Camry and Corolla

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 23 May 2007

Hertz New Zealand is expanding its fleet of small and mid-range Toyota vehicles in response to strong nation-wide growth in both leisure and corporate rentals.

The company has commenced deliveries of the new sixth-generation Toyota Camry sedan (Group E), and will soon add to this the new Toyota Corolla sedan (Group C) and hatchback (Group D).

“The expansion of the Toyota fleet reflects not only increased demand for rentals in New Zealand, particularly among international fly-drive visitors, but a growing preference for more fuel-efficient vehicles,” said Murray Hodges, Hertz New Zealand Managing Director.

“The new Toyotas entering our fleet offer the space and comfort normally associated with larger vehicles, while continuing to deliver improved fuel economy over previous models,”

“As well as comfortable cabins for passengers, both vehicles also have plenty of space for luggage, including split-fold rear seats which provide more storage space for larger items such as golf clubs, or for additional bags” Mr Hodges added.

The sixth marque of the Camry is a significant departure from previous models, with a new, more stylish body shape, a more spacious and comfortable interior and extensive use of new intuitive technology.

The entry-level Camry Altise features Driver Assist Technologies including Active Braking and Intelligence, vehicle stability control and traction control, as well as improved steering response. Headlights will switch on automatically when the vehicle senses fading light.

The Corolla’s features include front and rear disc brakes, SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger, anti-skid brake and front power windows.
