        The
JIA Shanghai opened its doors to the public last month and is already making
a favourable impression on its fashionable and style-conscious clientele.
With the opening, the group’s 28 year-old Singaporean founder and owner Ms. Yenn Wong continues the expansion of her highly
successful JIA Boutique Hotels concept from Hong Kong to China’s hottest city. JIA Shanghai opened just three years after the successful
        launch of JIA Hong
Kong, and following the opening of restaurants OPIA in JIA Hong Kong in
2005 and Graze in Singapore last year and recently, Muse Bar at the Singapore National Museum.
With its prime, central location in a stunning 1920’s building on the corner of Nanjing Road and Tai Xing Road, JIA Shanghai marks the first
of several more boutique concepts Ms. Wong has planned in the region.
“I am excited about introducing the JIA concept in such a great city as Shanghai,”
said Ms. Wong, “…and we will be expanding further with more new hotel, residence and restaurant projects in Asia soon to be
        announced.”
JIA Shanghai features 55 chic guestrooms and suites, some with private
balconies. Two penthouse suites are located on the top floor, each appointed with ultra luxurious facilities and with uniquely designed
interconnecting functions to adjacent rooms, allowing them to form larger 200 sq. metre suites.
The spacious guestrooms averaging 45 sq. metres are designed as quietly theatrical, warm and sexy spaces for the modern,
        design-conscious traveller.
The spacious bathrooms, designed with Bisazza mosaic tiles, have separate bath, shower and toilet areas with contemporary designer fittings and luxurious bath amenities.
        A special introductory
discount of 30% is being offered for stays before October 31, 2007 (except during the Shanghai Grand
Prix October 5-7, 2007). Room rack rates at JIA Shanghai start from RMB2,000 for a studio room, RMB4,000 for a one-bedroom suite and from
RMB12,000 for a Penthouse Suite. Room rates are subject to service charge and government tax and include complimentary continental
breakfast, all day soft beverages, afternoon cakes and evening wine in the
lobby, complimentary broadband and wi-fi service throughout
the hotel, no charge for local phone calls, the use of dvd's, Nintendo and WII games and other added benefits.
