Austrian Airlines and Qantas have joined forces to offer travellers
a new option to Europe, flying from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to Vienna, via Tokyo.
The new two-tiered Red Ticket special, which is valid for travel between 13 October, 2007, and 31 March, 2008, offers Economy Class fares
from just A$2089.
Zone 1 fares offer one way or roundtrip flights to Vienna plus a choice of 39 more destinations, including Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin,
Copenhagen, Geneva, Helsinki, Paris, Prague and Rome.
Zone 2 fares, priced from
A$2175, offer a further 31 destinations beyond Vienna, including Ankara, Basel, Malta, Sofia, Turin and Zagreb.
Austrian's Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Mr Morten Skaar, said the new route via Japan offered exciting new travel
possibilities for travellers.
"In addition to our current fares, which offer connections to our flights from Bangkok to Vienna, we can now offer flights via Tokyo, and the
opportunity to stop over in the Japanese capital before continuing to Europe on our nonstop services," said Mr
Skaar.
Passengers travel from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth on Qantas flights to Tokyo, where they can connect with Austrian's Boeing
777 services to Vienna, six days per week. All passengers on Austrian's Boeing 777 aircraft have personal video systems.
