Hong Kong-based lifestyle guru and interior designer Louise Kou has been commissioned by Canvas Developments, the developer of the
exclusive new St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bali, to design interior styling concepts for the two and four bedroom private residences.
Ms. Kou’s chic designs were presented at her unique lifestyle boutique “KOU” in Hong Kong’s Central district at a private reception held
late last week.
The Residences, designed by Grounds Kent Architects and Samson Almario, are bought unfurnished but come immaculately finished and
complete with fixtures and fittings including flooring and bathroom and kitchen appliances. Owners of the two, three and four-bedroom
residences are now being offered the opportunity to commission ‘Lu’ Kou to decorate and furnish their villa with her exclusive interior designs.
The opulent new resort, nestled in an enclave on
one of Bali’s most beautiful beaches at Nusa Dua and bordered by a leading golf club, is scheduled
for completion in 2008.
Kou is a veteran of the global fashion industry, having held top management positions with some of the world’s leading luxury fashion brands
including Joyce, Swank and Escada Asia. Her lifestyle consultancy KOU Concept specialises in sourcing high-quality furnishings from the best
of the world’s designers, ranging from handpicked crystal glassware from Belgium and France and exquisite cutlery from Thiers, the ‘capital of
cutlery’, to outdoor furniture by Kettal, the most renowned label in Spain, and luxury books from
Taschen.
Her chic range embraces works of art and sculptures by masters, antiques collected from around the world, unique ornaments, Persian rugs
from Isfahan and Baluchi tribes, exotic accessories by Tina Barratt of France and themed table settings which include the best European
tableware and flatware, while her kitchens are styled with top quality cookware and accessories. KOU Concept has designed the homes of
numerous Hong Kong socialites and business professionals.
“We are delighted to be working with a prominent Hong Kong designer of Louise Kou’s stature, who provides the absolute best in unique, high
quality designs, products and materials. This will be of enormous value to our residence owners who will be offered the opportunity to
commission her work,” said Peter Chambers, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Rajawali Corporation, the parent company of
Canvas Developments.
With beach and golf-view locations and set in their own landscaped gardens with private pools, the 22 residences now available are generously
sized, from 483 to 900 sqm of land area and 259 to 451 sqm of built up area, and are designed by international architects, Grounds Kent
Architects, in traditional Balinese style.
Ms Kou
said, “Creating harmony in lifestyle is the essence of my philosophy and vision for interior designs of the residences at St Regis Resort
& Residences, Bali. Every detail reveals a passion, experience and sense of style. The very best of fashion and homeware items from around the
world has been hand-picked to express style and individuality.”
