Northwest Airlines to launch Portland - Amsterdam Flights

Northwest Airlines is to launch a new daily nonstop service from Amsterdam to Portland, Oregon.

Scheduled to begin March 30, 2008, Northwests nonstop Portland-Amsterdam service will utilize Airbus A330-200 aircraft to connect Portland and the Pacific Northwest to cities throughout Europe via Northwest/KLMs Amsterdam hub. Northwests Portland-Amsterdam service will also provide connections for customers traveling beyond Portland via partner airlines Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.

Portland will be the twentieth North American destination served by the combined KLM - Northwest Airlines Joint Venture via Schiphol. In total, Northwest Airlines and KLM will operate 257 flights per week between Europe and North America.

Flight NW91 (KL6091) will depart from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the morning and arrive the same day in Portland. The return flight, NW92 (KL6092), will depart from Portland in the afternoon arriving at Schiphol the following day in the morning.
