Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa celebrates Grand Opening

The Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa held its Grand Opening Celebrations on 25th and 26th February, 2006, following its soft opening on 1st September, 2005.

Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa, Marriott Internationals first Renaissance property in Thailand was rebranded from Buriraya Resort & Spa in July last year.

The Resorts Official Grand Opening ceremony started with an official welcoming speech by Kent Maury, General Manager and was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony which was conducted by Geoff Garside, Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific for Marriott International and Leun Krisnakri, Chairman of The Erawan Group Plc. The grand opening celebrations consisted of an elegant poolside cocktail reception on Saturday evening with traditional Thai entertainment. Special fireworks made the event even more memorable. The following morning, religious ceremonies were held at the Lotus meeting room as well as the resorts spirit house.

Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa is a secluded, romantic boutique resort enveloped in tropical gardens and set on a hill that gently slopes down to the beach, with stunning views over Lamai Bay. The resort comprises 78 rooms, including 43 deluxe rooms with private terrace with an outdoor whirlpool tub, two one bed room suites, 32 villas and the Royal Lamai villa. The villas feature a separate bedroom with a king size bed and separate living area, leading to secluded terrace with a private pool and sitting area. Other facilities include three main restaurants, two bars, a meeting room, two outdoor swimming pools, Quan Spa and a fitness center. 

Rates at the resort start from US$ 225 per night subject to applicable service charge and government tax.
