New Executive Roles at Evason Resorts & Hideaways in Vietnam and Thailand

Evason Resorts & Hideaways in Vietnam and Thailand, have made the following appointments:

Brian W. Dechant - Area General Manager, Evason Resorts & Hideaways - Vietnam. Brian has assumed the role of Area General Manager, bringing more than 25 years of experience and broad ranging responsibilities in deluxe 5-star international hotel and resort companies. These include InterContinental, Hyatt International, Le Meridien, Regal Hotels International, and Millennium & Copthorne. Brian's most recent assignments were General Manager positions in hotels located in the bustling city centres of Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Jakarta. Brian arrived in Asia in 1990, when he joined Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort.

In his Vietnam portfolio of properties are Ana Mandara Evason Resort and Evason Hideaway at Ana Mandara both located at Nha Trang; and Evasons Ana Mandara Villas Dalat, set for a September 2006 opening in Vietnams central highlands.

He is Canadian national, and is a Certified Hotel Administrator (C.H.A.) In addition to his native English, Brian is fluent in German language.

Godfrey Vas - Resort Manager, Evason Hideaway & Six Senses Spa at Hua Hin - Thailand. Godfrey comes to Evason Hideaway at Hua Hin from his former role of Resort Manager at Six Senses flagship property, Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives. Prior to joing Six Senses, he had a two year tenure at Parrot Cay Resort and Spa in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the West Indies, where he held a similar role overseeing the resort operations and ensuring guest satisfaction. Prior to that, he spent five-years with Le Meridien in Port Villa, Vanuatu, preceded by a five-year stint with Le Meridien in Melbourne Australia, the city of which he is a native.

Godfrey began his hospitality career as assistant night manager at Gulf Hotel Bahrain, then as front office manger at Hotel Swanston in Melbourne. Early in his professional career, he was involved in exporting fashion garments to the Gulf. He speaks Hindi and conversational Arabic, in addition to his mother tongue, English.
