Airbus appoints Fabrice Brégier as Chief Operating Officer

Fabrice Brégier (45) has been appointed Airbus Chief Operating Officer (COO) with immediate effect by the EADS Board of Directors, while remaining a Member of the EADS Executive Committee. Together with Airbus CEO Louis Gallois, they will form the “Airbus President's Office”.

Prior to assuming the position at Airbus, Fabrice Brégier was Head of EADS' Eurocopter Division from June 2005, as well as President and CEO of the Eurocopter Group since 2003.

After several appointments as Advisor to French Ministers, Mr Brégier joined Matra Défense in 1993 where he assumed senior managerial functions within the group. From the beginning of 1998, he became CEO of Matra BAe Dynamics. He was appointed CEO of MBDA, a leading European Missile Systems Company that was created in 2001 by Aerospatiale Matra, British Aerospace and Finmeccanica.

Born in July 1961, and a graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines, Fabrice Brégier is married with three children. In his free time, he likes football and scuba diving.
