Mandarin Oriental to Manage Luxury Residences in London

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 19 September 2006

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has signed an agreement to brand and manage 80 luxurious residences that will be developed on a site adjacent to the group’s hotel in Knightsbridge, London. The development, which will be known as One Hyde Park, will comprise some of the world’s most exclusive private apartments, luxury retail and a selection of leisure facilities, which will also enhance the experience of the group’s London hotel guests. The overall project, which is being developed by the award-winning developers and interior designers, Candy & Candy, is scheduled for completion in 2009.

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental in London are the latest in a line of residential projects that the group has announced around the world. As with all Mandarin Oriental Residences, apartment owners will be offered an exclusive extension to the luxury hotel experience with bespoke services and amenities to complement their lifestyles. Through the provision of custom-designed benefits, residents can choose to be treated as guests of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London and enjoy the exceptional services provided by the hotel.

The One Hyde Park development consists of four inter-connecting buildings designed by leading architectural practice, Richard Rogers Partnership, which will enjoy spectacular views of Hyde Park to the north and Knightsbridge to the south. The hotel will be directly connected underground to One Hyde Park in order to provide management services for the whole development, as well as tailor-made services for individual residents. Two exclusive ranges of leisure facilities, including swimming pools, are being designed within the residential development, with separate access for hotel guests and apartment owners to enjoy respectively. A private, underground car park for One Hyde Park residents will contain a separately controlled car parking area for hotel guests.

Edouard Ettedgui, CEO of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, said, “We are delighted to be introducing The Residences at Mandarin Oriental to one of the world’s most important cities and are excited to be involved in this stunning architectural project. We also look forward to offering our hotel guests additional luxurious services and facilities that will be created by the new development.”
