Millennium & Copthorne to manage its First Hotel in China - Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai

Millennium & Copthorne will be unveiling its first hotel in China, Shanghai on 28 August 2006.

“We are very excited and look forward to unveiling the hotel group’s first venture into China. Our Millennium Hongqiao Hotel in Shanghai comes at a time where the Asia segment of our business has experienced strong growth. We look forward to further strengthening our presence in China with our second hotel, the Millennium Beijing, scheduled to open in the capital city in the second quarter of 2008 in time for the Beijing Summer Olympics,” said Mr Michael Tan, Executive Vice-President (Chairman’s Office) of Millennium & Copthorne International Limited.

Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai is a 5-star international hotel located along Yan An Xi Road in the heart of the city’s commercial and residential district in Hongqiao. It is within close proximity to convention and exhibition venues, plush residential community, a Carrefour Supermarket and entertainment area. With its central location, the hotel is a mere 10 minutes drive away from the city’s domestic Hongqiao Airport and 40 minutes drive from the Pudong International Airport.

This 369-room hotel is uniquely designed with a glass façade where every corner of the hotel overlooks into a botanical haven of lush greeneries. All guestrooms and suites are spacious with contemporary design and feature long bath and separate shower, electronic safe, flat screen LCD colour television, broadband Internet access, electronic key card access, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities. 

There are five food and beverage outlets that include:

- Spectrum Chinese Restaurant - the hotel’s premier signature outlet, featuring walk-in wine cellar and 12 private dining rooms accommodating up to 10 persons each room

- TKNY Grill & Bar - a contemporary “East meets West” cutting-edge restaurant with an adjacent lounge with live-entertainment

- ‘O’ Café - will feature a multitude of meal options from breakfast, snacks and buffets to international, Asian and new wave creations by the Chef 

- CHATZ Lobby Lounge - chill-out area perfect for a business discussion, catch-up with friends or just to relax, unwind and enjoy the live entertainment

- Delicatessen – pastries and sweet delights for dine-in or takeaways

The hotel offers more than 1,000 square metres of WiFi connected exclusive function space, including two pillar-free ballrooms and nine function rooms of various sizes to meet the demands and expectations of organisers.

August and December 2006 - from RMB1,320 per room per night

September, October and November 2006 - from RMB1,540 per room per night

For the opening, the Millennium Hongqiao is extending an attractive offer of stay two nights and get the third night free, for a maximum of 10 nights per booking. This offer is valid for stays  until 31 December 2006.
