New Travel and Lifestyle Exhibition Launched

Travel News Asia Friday, 14 July 2006

A new exhibition has been launched that will highlight Asia, its people, its beauty, its travel destinations, food and culture.

Spot on Asia is a new concept in travel and lifestyle events that combines travel, culture and food in a total Asian experience.

A joint initiative of World Events Organisation and Definitive Events, Spot on Asia aims to entice and inspire Australians to learn more about their Asian neighbours.

“Our research showed that there was a need for an event that did not just focus on travel, or food, but that covered the entire Asian experience,” said Andrew Lee, executive director, World Events Organisation.

“Asia is the number one travel destination for Australians and travel to Asia has doubled in the last ten years. Spot on Asia will allow Asian travel destinations, airlines and travel agents to market their products to consumers, plus allow the consumer to experience the tastes of Asia through cookery demonstrations, cultural performances, travel talks and films.”

Spot On Asia will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be open to trade from 10am-3pm on Friday 18 May and then to the general public from 3pm – 7pm and all day Saturday and Sunday, 19 and 20 May.

“There has been a lot of interest in Spot on Asia from Asian tourism bureaux, hotel groups and airlines as this event will promote all types of travel product from student travel to luxury, adventure, seniors travel and business tourism,” Mr Lee said.
