Executive movements at Six Senses

Six Senses Resorts & Spas, Soneva Resorts and Evason Resorts & Hideaways have made the following executive appointments:

Harsh Roopchand – Director Exclusive Product & Executive Assistant to CEO

Harsh Roopchand has relocated to the Six Senses Bangkok Hub from his previous assignment at Soneva Resorts in the Maldives, where he held the position of Director Sales & Marketing. In his new role, he will work closely with Six Senses’ CEO, plus focus on the group’s high-end products.

Harsh earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in International Hospitality Management from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland after completing his A Levels at Harrow School. Prior to joining Six Senses in a Sales & Marketing role at Soneva Resorts in Maldives, he completed internships with several lifestyle businesses and hotels, such as Bulgari SPA Neuchatel, Loedstar SA Geneva (Ultra-HNW Events/Marketing), Le Mirador Mont Pelerin, Ca Muse Vicenza, NOGA Hilton Geneva and The Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai. Harsh enjoys acting, sports, cooking and pets, as well as contributing personal energy towards charitable causes.

Ryosuke Yakuwa – Manager Sales and Marketing – Soneva Resorts

Ryosuke Yakuwa comes to Soneva Resorts in the Maldives from his former role as Resident Manager Cox & Kings Maldives. In this role he represented several top-end resorts in Japan and is well versed in this competitive market.

Ryo had previously held the position of Sales Executive for TUI Tokyo and GONG Notting Hill. He is a graduate of University College London where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Built Environment, and holds a Master’s Degree from London School of Economics in London, in Urban Design and Social Science.

His interests include architecture and design, culinary discoveries, wines and tennis. Ryo is based at Soneva Gili.

Nattapun Runyasewa – Director of Sales, Evason Resorts Thailand

Khun Nattapun (Aei) recently joined Six Senses’ Evason Resorts as Director of Sales, Thailand, coming from The Oriental Bangkok where she held a similar position. After completing post graduate studies in MS Hospitality Administration from Johnson & Wales University, Rhode Island, USA, Khun Aei commenced her career as a hotel sales executive, developing herself over the following decade into management roles for several five- stars hotels and resorts, which include Dusit Island Resort, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Tower Bangkok, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, The Bangkok Marriot Resort & Spa, Rayavadee - Starwood Luxury Collection, and during the pre-opening period of Le Meriden Khaolak Beach & Spa Resort.

Khun Aei is based at the Bangkok Hub of Six Senses.

Damian O’Donnell – Resort Manager, Evason Hideaway at Ana Mandara – Vietnam

Damian O’Donnell has been promoted to Resort Manager of the Evason Hideaway at Ana Mandara from the role of EAM – Room Division. He joined Evason Hideaway in mid-2005, from his previous role as Rooms Division Manager at Hayman Island Resort in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Over the preceding decade Damian held positions at Four Seasons Hotels in Chicago, Neveis in the West Indies, Sydney and London. He has also worked in California and Taiwan, plus a stint in the Caribbean with P&O Cruise Lines.

Damian is a hospitality management graduate with twenty years experience, commencing in his home town of Sydney Australia.

Kasem Ratanasonti – Group Legal Counsel

Khun Kasem Ratansonti joined Six Senses Resorts & Spas as Group Legal Counsel in February 2006. He is part of Six Senses Core. His previous role was Senior Associate with DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (Thailand). Prior to that, he completed his Master of Public and Private Management from National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), in 2005.

Khun Kasem graduated from the Faculty of Law at Chulalongkorn University, after which he began his professional career working with several international law firms, such as Vickery & Worachai, Siam Niti and 4 years for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. During this time he developed a focus in Real Estate. Estate, which included a significant achievement when he provide legal counsel to Tesco for project development of Tesco Lotus Hypermarkets in Thailand. 

Khun Kasem is based at the group’s Bangkok Hub.

Phimolwan Phromchanya – General Manager – Tropic Land Limited

Khun Phimolwan (Bee) joined Six Senses Resorts & Spas in December 2005 as the General Manager – Tropic Land Limited; a subsidiary Six Senses company that owns Soneva Kiri Resort currently being developed on Koh Kood in the east of Thailand.

Khun Bee graduated in Law from Bangkok’s Thammasat University and also holds a Master of Law from the University of Washington, where she studied Business and Corporate Law. She began her career in hospitality operations with Le Merdien President Hotel and JW Marriot Hotel, both in Bangkok, before taking up a role with Laguna Resorts and Hotel Public Company Limited, in which she attained the position of Legal Counsel – Property Division.

Pituck Jongnarangsin – Social and Environmental Conscience

Khun Pituck Jongnorangsin took up the role of Six Senses; Social and Environmental Conscience in January 2006. Khun Pituck graduated in Sociology and Anthropology from Thammasat University in Bangkok and post-graduated with Master of Arts in International Resources and Development from the University of Leeds, in the United Kingdom.

Khun Pituck worked for several international social and environmental organizations such as Thailand Environmental Institute (TEI), The Japan Foundation and Danish International Development Assistance (Danida) / Danish Corporation for Environment and Development (Danced), as Environmental Program Coordinator for a five-year tenure prior to joining Six Senses. Khun Pituck contributes to several publications on subjects relating to social and environmental issues, and also conducts lectures for university students.

Khun Pituck’ is based at the Six Senses Hub in Bangkok.
