Business as usual at Pelangi Beach and Spa Resort Langkawi

Travel News Asia 7 January 2005

Spared from major devastation, it is business as usual at the Pelangi Beach and Spa Resort in Langkawi.

All services at the resort are back to normal with the beach restaurant, beach bar, swimming pools, spa and pool bars in full operation now as the first phase of restoration work has been completed. The beach is cleaner and looks more beautiful than ever.

Currently the concentration is on the resorts ground and garden beautifying exercise. The landscape suffered badly from the salt water and the resort has engaged a professional consultant to assist with the work. It will be a long process to reinstate the once well known and award winning gardens to its original status but the resort is confident that it will be achieved in the near future.

Many guests are continuing their holiday in Pelangi as normal. They refused to be daunted by natures wrath and intend to make the most of their stay at the resort. As for the new arrivals, they have expressed disbelief in the progress the resort has managed to make in the last few days. Though many admitted to being apprehensive based on the international media reports and advisories from their respective countries.

Despite all, the resort has also dedicated a humanitarian needs campaign towards the less fortunate ones. It has recently launched the Tsunami Crisis Fund and every single dollar contributed towards the fund will be channeled to the victims who had lost their loved ones as well as homes.
