Cathay Pacific to add fourth daily London service

Travel News Asia 27 June 2005

Cathay Pacific is to launch a fourth daily non-stop service to London with a new morning departure from Hong Kong.

The new service, operated by a three-class Airbus 340-300, will start 1 December 2005, departing Hong Kong at 0905 local time (0915 on Mondays) to arrive at 1450 local time (1500 on Mondays) the same day. The return flight will depart London at 2115 local time, arriving in Hong Kong at 1730 local time the following day.

Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Philip Chen said, “Cathay Pacific has grown tremendously since we commenced services to London a quarter century ago. London was our first European destination and remains a key market for Hong Kong’s continued growth as an aviation hub and business centre. Our fourth daily flight between Hong Kong and London, two world-class cities, underscores our commitment to support Hong Kong’s future growth, even as the airline faces the challenge of higher fuel prices.”
