Jetstar Asia and Vaulair merge

Travel News Asia 26 July 2005

Singapore-based airlines Jetstar Asia and Valuair have formed a new Singaporean company, Orange Star, that will own and operate both airlines.

Orange Star will be chaired by Mr Geoff Dixon, who is Chairman of Jetstar Asia and Chief Executive Officer of Qantas Airways.

The Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar Asia, Mr Ken Ryan, has been appointed as Chief Executive of both Valuair and Jetstar Asia and will run both airlines.

Jetstar Asia and Valuair are expected to operate in their own right for the foreseeable future, with little or no change to the service offered by either airline.

Mr Ryan said, “There is no need for passengers booked on either airline to do anything other than look forward to their next flight with Valuair or Jetstar Asia. Passengers will not need to reconfirm their flights as operations will continue as normal.”
