InterContinental Hotels Group
has been appointed by the Raptis Group
to take over management of the ANA Hotel Gold Coast. Effective from 29th
March 2005, the hotel will be re-branded Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise.
Raptis Group Chairman and Managing Director, Jim Raptis
said, “We looked at a number of proposals before appointing InterContinental Hotels Group. We believe that
they are well positioned to retain the high standards of the hotel.”
Mr Raptis said that with the property’s ideal location in a key position to the city of Surfers Paradise, its acquisition was a medium to long term investment for the
company.

Imbardelli said, “We are delighted to be joining Jim Raptis and the Raptis Group to
reintroduce the Holiday Inn brand to Surfer’s Paradise through this management contract. We are committed to working with The Raptis Group to make this a
brand-defining Holiday Inn hotel catering to both leisure and meeting guests in this choice location.”
The 22-storey hotel will become one of the largest Holiday Inn hotels in the Asia Pacific region with 404 rooms including 18 suites.
Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise is located 50 metres from the magnificent Surfers Paradise beach and in the heart of the shopping and entertainment precinct. It offers two
restaurants, three bars, two floors of conference, convention and banquet facilities and extensive recreation facilities including two tennis courts, three swimming pools
and a health club incorporating gym, massage and beauty treatments.
Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise is an hour’s drive from Brisbane international and domestic terminals, half an hour from Coolangatta Airport and within easy access to the
Gold Coast's major attractions and theme parks.
